2. Sample Student Evaluations

At the conclusion of each quarter at the Illinois Institute of Art – Chicago students complete an evaluation, either filling out a Scantron sheet (which are then compiled into the IDEA scores) or offering their opinions on the in-house surveys below.  Here you can find a sample of surveys with student comments from selected quarters – they are paired with student survey comments from the Fall 2011 ACM Arts Independent Study Projects class:

“Jason was amazing. He was very open to everyone’s ideas, and we all
respected him a lot, because he respected us. He really let us explore our
talents, and gave us a lot of wiggle room to get to know our own creative
process.”

“I think that our instructor was ideal for the job– very accessible and supportive
and an excellent mentor.”

“Our teacher being so well-educated, creative, and accessible. He really made
this for me. Our class had a workshop environment where we helped each other,
which was really helpful.”

“I did not expect to do something that cool, Jason really helped me push myself
and provide a creative environment to develop my ideas. He is a mentor.”

“Jason is great and encourages only the best from us, making us more confident
and pleased with the work we have done.”

“The instructor was the best. He was willing to travel and support me outside of
class and he was VERY comfortable to sit down with and have coffee while
talking bout my ISP.”
